With its sleek glass exterior and metallic orange walls, the Honolulu Design Center established itself as a prominent piece of modern architecture. Located on Kapiolani Boulevard, it provides a place for guests to shop, dine and enjoy entertainment. The complex is home to an array of public and private events, as well as an extensive wine collection from Amuse Wine Bar, award-winning Asian-American cuisine at Stage Restaurant and INspiration’s high-end furniture and decor showrooms.
For its launch, Honolulu Design Center hired 6 Pillars Marketing to execute a variety of services, including public relations, marketing, communications, graphic design and video. 6PM launched the exciting, new Honolulu Design Center with not one, but two spectacular grand opening parties.
The first event was a small, intimate reception night reserved for local media to experience the facility’s six furniture showrooms, fine dining restaurant, wine and martini bar and indoor cafe. 6PM wrote, designed and printed comprehensive media kits, which were distributed to media to cultivate pre- and post-opening articles on the new complex.
A larger grand opening extravaganza was held two weeks later, attended by more than 1,500 VIPs, community leaders, government officials, celebrities (including John Travolta), and loyal store patrons. Due to the center’s urban location and limited on-site parking, special traffic arrangements were made and 50 valet attendants were hired to ensure a smooth start and finish to the event for all guests. An eye-catching orange carpet and unique revolving spotlight directed guests around the perimeter of the Honolulu Design Center to an entertainment stage where they were greeted with a Hawaiian chant, formal blessing and dramatic hula performance. The launch details — big and small — were handled seamlessly by 6PM.
