Town Center of Mililani

CLIENT: TOWN CENTER OF MILILANI
SERVICES: PUBLIC RELATIONS, CRISIS COMMUNICATIONS, COMMUNITY RELATIONS & SOCIAL MEDIA

Town Center of Mililani is the heart and soul of the centrally located, vibrant bedroom community that is home to tens of thousands of Oahu residents. The largest shopping center in Central Oahu and one of the largest in the state, the center spans 449,000 square feet. It offers a wide array of shopping and services, with more than 90 stores, including Longs Drugs, Times Supermarket, PetSmart, local specialty shops, and restaurants like CPK, Five Guys Burgers & Fries and Zippy’s, as well as Consolidated Theatres with premium TITAN LUXE, and medical, financial and professional services offices.

After conducting major renovations, Town Center of Mililani hired 6 Pillars Marketing to reintroduce the refreshed community destination. Our social media, public relations and marketing teams worked on multiple campaigns, which resulted in increased engagements, fans and followers, and valuable media coverage.

Often, you will find our social media team on site, searching out and creating engaging social media content from tenants and supporting center initiatives. Our public relations team has worked on campaigns ranging from the dedication of new artwork in the center’s public spaces to the annual New Year’s tradition, the ever-popular and celebrated Pineapple Drop – Hawaii’s version of the Times Square ball drop. 6PM secured and coordinated American Idol alumna Kimberly Locke as the Pineapple Drop headliner. An accompanying public relations campaign resulted in multiple media placements, television coverage and live remote broadcasts, providing island-wide exposure for the shopping center.

6PM also revitalized the center’s program for children, the Mililani Keiki Club, with fresh, family-friendly activities and sponsorship from tenants. In addition, 6PM launched the new Mililani Jam, Central Oahu’s monthly showcase of local talent. These recurring activities are important marketing components that have helped to elevate Town Center of Mililani’s community-centric brand. During the COVID-19 pandemic, 6PM took Keiki Club and Mililani Jam online, live streaming both so viewers could watch high quality programming from home, reinforcing their connection to the center throughout the stay-at-home mandate.

From creating innovative programming to day-to-day management of social media to ceaselessly working to keep its community engaged, 6PM is proud of the energetic and essential work it continues to do at Town Center of Mililani.
